guidebush less type sliding head lathe

Which type, guidebush less type or guide bush type is better for consistency and accuracy of maintaining a total lenght of the job within +/- 15 microns. The job dia is about 8-12mm and total length does not exceed 12 mm in all the jobs. '

Either one will hold that tolerance easily. However, if this is all you will ever run on the machine, you'll save $$ by going with the guide bushing-less machine. No bushings to buy, you can run cold drawn or extruded barstock, and you'll have less material waste (shorter bar ends).
