Looking for MEDOC DOS software

A customer of a company I'm working for uses MEDOC DOS version for all their Mitsubishi PLC's. They have a basic workcell program and I need to edit it to work with the die set we are building for them. The problem is that Mitsubishi doesn't sell MEDOC anymore. I found an older version, 1.64 IIRC, but it fails to open their files. GPPWin / GX developer fails at importing their files too.

Anyone know where I can get a later version of Mitsubishi's Melsec Medoc for Dos?

Thanks!

Hm, that's illegal as far as I see it.

Btw, there is also a 32bit version of Medoc (Windows Console Application), see

and search for Medoc . The software "GX-Developer" should also manage to open Medoc projects, but sometimes fails because it's more limited.

Roger,

If you still need a copy of MEDOC for DOS, just tell me the version you are looking for (v3.3 or v6.4) and I will email it to you. It's no big deal - the software was available free at the time anyway..

I tried the version from PLCMAN website (v1.64) and it isn't compatible with the files I have. I'm guessing that the customer is using the latest version of Medoc available. Is v6.4 a DOS version? If you can email me the latest DOS version you have, I would like to try it to see if it reads their files. Thanks!

Version 2.30 is the last version of the DOS version of MELSEC MEDOC. It is still delivered together with the 32bit version.

The best way to get it is to contact Beijer Electronics, see

MELSEC MEDOC supports F, G, K and A series of Mitsubishi Electric PLC's ("MELSEC").

Also an OS/2 version is available, but almost no one use that any more I guess :-)

Sorry, I got the version numbers mixed up - it has been a while since I last looked at our archive.

Mitsubishi started at around v3 and added a "1.xx" around v5 just to confuse people. Hence v1.52 is newer than v3.12. The last version we got was v1.64c (not v6.4 - brain fade) IIRC, you had to pay for all versions after that.

BTW, I don't remember *any* compatibility issues between different file versions of Medoc - the version differences had to do with support for newer PLCs, whilst the old ones just dropped off (eg. v1.64c doesn't support K series but v3.12 does).

If you can't read the files (you should have a .NAM, .HDR and .PRG at least) then it isn't the DOS version you are looking for.

Good luck!
