Having trouble finding a '110 v.' Panel Mount Surge Protector

May 23, 2005 4 Replies

I cant find a Panel Surge Protector for 110 volts (main breaker is 30 amps..small Panel). Menards has one for about $59 but its for 240 v.

-- not sure if it will work on a straight 110 v. panel. Can you help ? Thanks much.

The Wiremold=99 Company has several of them for different applications. =AEoy

A protector that offers L-L, L-N, N-G, and L-G protection, which is probably what you saw at Menards, will work on both

120 and 240. In addition, there are single phase protectors available. Two examples: the "Zone Defender" model 14400 from Atlantic Scientific, and the model IS-PM120-SP from Polyphaser

'm sure there are others.

Your electrician can advise you as to which of the available protectors can be installed in your panel.

Ed, Thanks. I just bought Intermatics 'Panel Guard' Surge Protector from Menards for 49 dollars. It lists : N-G, L1-L2 , L1-G, L1-N, so....looks like it will work on 110 v. only.
