Hi there, I'm about to acquire my journeyman ticket as a power systems electrician, as designated in Alberta Canada. I am curious what the job title is across the country for the same discipline. Just to be clear, this is not a power lineman ticket, I will work exclusively within substation yards on the equipment providing electrical utility.

In Alaska we have a journeyman power lineman license and that is all for the outside category. This classification covers a broad range of line work and substation work as covered in the NESC. Power lineman do new work subject the current adopted version of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC 2002) and do maintenance work subject to which ever code was in effect at the time of the initial installation or to later versions of the NESC.
