Portable DC powered device to trigger a Guassmeter?

Jun 22, 2004 0 Replies

Hi everyone - I want to be able to plant small objects in a room that will register on a Guassmeter (yes it's a reality show :)

My understanding is that a guassmeter is going to register a 50 or 60 hz AC current under load.

Is there anything I could use that would also register on a guassmeter that is:

- small, i.e. handheld

- runs on DC power

My worst nightmare is hooking up a car battery to an inverter and running something off of that.

I think this would work but it would be messy and heavy - any other ideas?

Thanks in advance!
