A genetic algorithm approach is used for optimum design of space frames so as to minimize the weight of the structure. Finite Element method is used with finite deflections of hinges and stability analysis of the whole structure (it?s important for tall compressed frames). Structure may have any number of support ties at any position and any number of horizontal and vertical loads with possibility of implantation of any number forbidden areas for bars and hinges to get necessary restrictions on shapes.
