Help finding a piston pump

I hate shopping for pumps. They never just throw the price right out there for you. This time I am looking for a piston pump which I am not very familiar with.

I am looking for the smallest least expensive pump that can do around

1,000 to 2,000 PSI. My design flow rate is only .183 gpm. I suppose I could either go with a belt driven pump to reduce flow if necessary or a direct drive pump with a VFD. I've found a few pumps but they all could actually be a little smaller.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dear laylow:

Why a piston pump? Why not a gear pump? What fluid?

Gear pump.

Of what fluid?

If you do get a piston pump, some of them are available with variable displacements, example Vickers made one that was a 5 gpm pump, and it could throttle back to any displacement... for hydraulic oil. I'd not recommend a piston pump for water.

It is for deionized or softened water. The application is a fogger for humidification. The pump pressurizes the system up to about 1000 PSI forcing the water to spray out of .006" orifices. Each orifice is rated to deliver .026 GPM @ 1000PSI and I only need about .026 GPM. 7 orifices would do fine but I may include up to 15. The commercial systems that I've seen all appear to be using piston pumps.

Compare this pressure to the transdemal injection system pressures. If anyone comes in contact with an operating spray head, you will be injecting this water intravenously. Think lawsuits.

has pumps for spray washers as low as 1 gpm (and up to 2000 psi). Price is as low as the low $300 range. And God help you. You could always blow the excess water into the sewer, or into the garden.

This is not an uncommon application. I am not sure of what the actual operating pressure is but they are all rated for 1,000PSI plus. I found a pump for $580 from CAT 1DX015ELS.MIST It delivers .15 GPM at fractional HP. I think it's the perfect pump but I sure wouldn't mind finding one for less.

Its real common out here in the desert, however the nozzles are guarded.
