Automation Direct GS2 VFD's

I think I am going to pick one of these up. I looked at them on line and it is not clear whether these have cable knock outs like my other VFD's have or if it just has wire access slots. I am going to put this one on the Cincinnati Royal Drill Press and would like to NOT put it into an enclosure if possible.

Any one else have one of these that can shed some light on this for me as far as mounting it outside of an enclosure and also about the cable knock outs?

Thanks, Steve

Steve, these need an enclosure..or be mounted well back or above the motor..anyplace out of the way. Wiring comes in the bottom of the case and the top.

I install one or two of these every month or two. Good drives.

What Gunner said. I have used a bunch of these both at home and mostly at work. Great drives, compact and pretty easy to setup and use. You will need an enclosure, no knockouts, the terminal strips are sort of built into the case of the thing. Suitable electrical enclosures are easy to find and no to pricey. Old computer cases are free...
