can i harden a copper pipe by heating it?

hello,i want to use some plumbing pipe in a non plumbing application. . if i heat this pipe then let it cooloff several times will it harden the pipe?

No, this will soften it. The only way to harden it is to work it. Do you have a lathe?

For jewelry, we commonly harden metal by burnishing or hammering.

Nope, ain't going to happen. Copper has to be work hardened. Or buy some already in the hard condition. Lane
