CO2 regulator washer source?

Last time I had this problem I cut one from red fibre sheet using appropriate sized wad punches.

I've used a piece of cardboard in a pinch. Sounds like BS to me that a gas house doen't have an integral part of a very common gas delivery system. Surely someone else locally would have these for you.

Quick google search revealed:

I can't recall having seen a washer on a CO2 fitting on a bulk bottle (AKA commerial fitting). I've filled a fair few airgun cylinders off soda fountain and draft dispenser bottles over the years.

I'd say that you could part off a suitable washer from some delrin rod, if you felt the need, or check in the assorted bulk hardware bins at a Home Depot or similar borg store.

Maybe they just don't give them away anymore. They might be happy to sell you one or ten.

I could see a Bean Counter in the home office deciding they have to sell the little one cent gaskets (when bought in bulk) for 25 cents each (*) instead of give them away for free with each tank fill, but to just not have them at all?

(* - Now that it has a SKU and a retail price attached, they have to add in enough markup to justify all the ordering and bagging and tagging and handling and ringing it up during the sale. They can't just treat it as a supply and a one-cent cost of business. Stupid? You bet.)

Something is fishy here, lots of people still use straight CO2 for shielding gas (raises hand), and the welding supply would need them on hand daily - you can reuse the fiber or Nylon gaskets, I have, but it isn't the best idea. You have to check for leaks.

Let your old welding supply know if they can't at least stock a simple item like that for sale you need to find a new welding supply, and see if their attitude changes. If not, it's time to go.

LHBS (local home-brew supplier, for those in the hobby). They're the more common users of CO2 tanks now that restaurants have mostly gone over to cryo tanks from NuCO2 and the like.

You can punch or cut your own out of polyethylene. A old 5-gallon bucket lid is a suitable source of raw material.

Last ones I got from the weld supply, have them as onesies or by the bag. Bag of 10 was like a buck or so. Still used, so maybe they were just out that day. Or you need to find another supplier...
