Har! What a hoot. Is that a jan-u-wine $49 Harbor Fright winch?

All I get is a blank screen on that URL, even after signing in and returning the sign in URL.

Larry,

No, it is a jan-u-wine $69.95 HF winch (440-880 lb).

Because of the built in brake, the quality of the hoist is not that important. Hence the name, "Dental Floss Elevator".

It lifts me up 8' in about 12 seconds. I weigh 180 and the lift weighs about 50 lb.

The pipe threads are good for over 10,000 lb.

Dunno, it worked just now and for everyone else. Suggest that you reboot.

It is the Sony Imagestation web site. Go there and look for BoyntonStu

Dunno, it just worked for me and for the others who tried.

Try rebooting. The web site is Sony Imagestation.

You seem to have posted the same thing 4 times within a half hour. Earlier you indicated that you were having problems seeing your posts on Google (BTW, I can see them all on Google now).

Are you expecting to see your posts on Google within a few minutes? A few hours delay would be more typical..

Tom,

This is what I got instead of message delivered:

Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, snipped-for-privacy@google.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

That is why I kep trying to send the message.

BTW can anyone recommend a better web site to post my photos without causing any hassles to my viewers?

Thanks,

From that site:

Whoever wrote that bit about confidentiality has little credibility in my eyes.

I would like to see more about that elevator, though.

just email the stuff to the 'dropbox' by following the instructions. size images to be 800 pixels on the longest axis, or less if you can still see whatis to be seen. most people have 800x600 screens still, and less than 800x is 'downloadable' in a reasonable time. in 2 years time, expect everyone to have 17" monitors and be running

1024x768 or more, but downlaod time will still be an issue becuase internet use is increasing faster than internet speed

swarf, steam and wind

Ted Bennett,

I am looking for a site that allows viewing without 'signing in'. Sony does provide a good service and to date, I have not been SPAMed.

If you are interested in my design, email me and I will try to help you.

But it's on sale right now, hence the quoted price. ;)

Tres cool. Congrats on the installation. I'll bet it really saves your back when IT is carting heavy objects between floors instead of you.

Zip 'em up and send them to the Dropbox, Stu.

Don't zip them. Two reasons: Zipping will not provide appreciable compression to .JPGs which is the best way to deal with photos. Those of us who must deal with unreliable ISPs will appreciate the oportunity to download one at a time.

Do follow the file name conventions that make it easier for everybody: No spaces - use "_" instead. Make names, at least the first several characters the same. e.g. My_project01.jpg, My_project02.jpg, My_project03.jpg,... Line drawings are best sent as .GIFs for now. .PNGs are generally more efficient but not all systems support them.

Has *anybody* seen these files in the metalworking dropbox yet? What are the file names?
