Not to allow myself to stray too far OT, but I saw this also and found myself wondering if it would actually have any effect, my guess being probably not much. There was an article in the Economist recently that looked at the phenomena of suicide bombing, and to what extent and whether 'religion' really had much to do with it... Of course, being the Economist they do view everything through the lens of ecomonics...

Neither of you has mentioned the obvious metalworking attraction in that piece:

"The rabbi said if police do not enact the plan, tens of thousands of Orthodox Jews will arm themselves with guns capable of spraying liquid pig lard at suspects."

Now, there's an RCM project for you.

Why not just keep a pet pig on each bus and have all passengers pet the pig as they get on?

Well, I've used lard oil quite a bit and no Muslim looney terrorist has ever blown me up to my knowledge. Must work then 'eh ?

We need another Black Jack Pershing. When he was in charge of the troops fighting Muslim insurgents in the Philippines he captured 50 of them. Lined them up in front of a ditch, had 49 of them shot. Poured pig blood all over the corpses and buried them. Told lucky #50 to go back and tell his buds all about it. Not much more trouble from them after that from what I read. Back before WW1 this was, I think.
