Loctite's effectiveness after heating?

Sep 27, 2008 0 Replies

The driver/piston on my nail gun can be dressed to compensate for wear. Then the length has to be adjusted. This is possible because the driver rod is threaded into the piston. Those threads were Loctite-ed, but heat loosened them & the adjustment was made. Now, the rod was not removed, cleaned, & new Loctite applied. Just heated, turned a bit, & cooled. It is now tight, but is it as tight as it was? Or does heating destroy the Loctite's effectiveness?

Thanks, Bob
