Shredding

lol. i'd seen that before, but it was a while ago, forgot about it. this is topical for me, i just sent an email to a friend about the two reclining chairs and 5 tires someone had dumped on a road we've "adopted". seeing the couch fall into the shredder made me laugh out loud. i WISH there was one of these at my local dump so i could experience the joy of throwing in the junk people dump along our 3 adopted roads.

b.w.

Cliff:

I think that's the best post you've made in probably the last 2 years. And actually somewhat on-topic. LOL

Wonder what a bin of old carbide would do to it?

Disappointed! I wanted to see the pile of shred it produced. Nice sound track for the first half, though.

My father used to build these and in fact the shop next door still does... Not quite that large, but same basic technology... Maybe 36" X 36" openings maximum. Carbide isn't too much of a problem except the teeth on the unit wear out quickly I suppose. It's mostly a brittle product, eh?

Roofing shingles on the other hand are the nighmare of all nightmares... They just gum it up and stop it from going forward or reverse. ...Don't ask how my dad learned about that issue because I think he just now forgave me after all these years.

If you want smaller units like this, see this guy and tell him I sent you:

Difference is, I bought the blender, I probably won't buy the shredder

- though it would be cool.

are those blenders as exciting as they look on TV?

I thought it would have a bit of difficulty with shredding a military torpedo..and it did..but it did shred it finally

Oh, I don't know that I'd call it "exciting," but it makes a hell of a milkshake. Really, I got it because I'm somewhat addicted to snow cones and the like. You can fill this thing with ice cubes and it turns them into fluffy "snow" in a few seconds. I also make "slushies" by mixing Ice, water and concentrated grape juice in the blender.

I've had other blenders, but nothing like this. Not even close.

On the other hand, that shredder would eat my blender alive.

I've seen those things munch couches and fridges before, but that giant tractor tire was damn impressive.
