Way OT - PC hard drive problem

Nov 05, 2010 0 Replies

I got a 120GB drive out of a TIVO box. It is a SATA device & I have an IDE motherboard, so I got a IDE-SATA adapter. The IDE controller is actually a PCI board, if it matters. I'm using Windows XP SP3.

Anyhow, the drive is "seen" by BIOS, Windows found "new hardware" & installed Plug-n-Play, Windows Device Manager shows it as enabled & operating normally, BUT it doesn't show up in the My Computer window! So I can't use it.

So, WTF do I do now? I've tried Help, but I guess that I don't know the right words to describe the problem, 'cause none of it is any help.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Bob
