Why is my browser throwing a security warning on the Anycubic site?

Went to grab something off thier website tonight and got hit with the full 'your connection is not private' warning page. Checked the date on the cert and it looks like it lapsed around the 10th, late in the evening. Now I'm wondering if I shoud even click through it or just wait it out. Kind of annoying becasue I was mid-download of their slicer update when it happened. Not sure if the download link itself is affected or if it's just the main pages. Anyone else seeing the same thing when they visit?

I assume someone at their end just needs to renew the thing and it'll sort itself out, but it's been like this for a bit now. Do these cert renewals usally take long once a company notices, or could this drag on for days? Would rather not mess with my browser security settings just to grab a file.

I clicked through just to see, and the site itself loads fine once you're past it. Pages, links, everything was behaving normally. I didn't grab the slicer update myself, but if the download is hosted on the same domain it'll probably work the same way. If you want to be extra careful, wait til the cert is fixed rather than clicking through, since that's the cleaner option, but plenty of people do click through on a known site when it's clearly just an expired renewal.

As for how long these things drag, usually not long at all. Once whoever runs the site notices, renewing is a few minutes of work and the fix shows up right away. The delay is almost always just someone not spotting it, often because it lapsed right before a weekend or late at night. I've seen this happen on smaller company sites a few times and it's typically sorted within a day, sometimes two if nobody's watching the inbox. Don't touch your browser security settings to get around it. That's overkill for grabbing one file and leaves you worse off afterwards. If you're in a hurry, try their support or wiki subdomain, sometimes those run on different certificates and one of them may still be valid. Or just check back tomorrow morning, odds are good it'll be sorted by then.

One thing I did notice is that some people are reporting it loads fine from their end, so it might depend on which server or region you're hitting. Worth a retry later regardless.

Saw the same thing last night when I tried looking up a spare part for my printer. What got me was the little padlock icon at the top was gone and the whole address went red, which scared me off clicking anything. I just closed the tab and figured I'd try again later. Does that padlock thing come back on its own once they sort it out, or do I need to do somethig on my end first?

Ended up grabbing the slicer from their GitHub instead, that cert's fine on my end. Bit of a workaround but it saved me poking at anything browser related. Odd that a company that size doesn't have some auto renewal on that thing, my buddy's little side business renews his automatically and he barely knows what a cert is. You'd think they'd have it sorted by now.

Update: took the GitHub tip and grabbed the slicer from there, file looks normal and installed fine. Still curious about the main site though, it's been lapsed for days now with no word from them. Does anyone know if there's a support email worth pinging about this, or do they usually just quietly fix it?
