Purification of P3HT

Hi,

i am doing research on organic semi-conductors, in order to set up organic transistors. The organic semi-conductor we use is primarily P3HT. According to several papers I have studied so far it should be possible to set up an organic transistor. We tried this by using a substrate Si then an Insulator SiO2, Goldelectodes with a distance between 100 - 25 Micrometers and between them P3HT.

So far the resulting curves were not really transistor-like, so that we fear the P3HT might be not pure enough. These impurities are mainly metals, which come from catalyst using in the synthesis. These metals are Zinc, Nickel, Magnesium, Iron and Palladium.

Up to now we have not a clue how we may purify our P3HT. May somenone got an idea?

You might find it easier to make you own P3HT than to remove the small amounts of traces metals.
