Now, just for fun, think about how enjoyable it was for the Nazi nurse to slowly to pull out the sucher that ran a good inch under my fingernail. I finally told her, "Please! Just yank the dang thing out, and be done with it!" :-/
And, just for the record, since I've shared my stupidity photo, here's the quick story. I was being too frugal, trying to make use of the last piece of 1/4" aircraft PW. Since the piece was too small to clamp. I told myself, "Self, you can just hold it in place with a clamp and one hand. Just don't let the cutter hit a knuckle as it spins." The blowout occured when the flycutter made it thru the PW and hit the harder underlying board, causing the cutting head to beak loose and slide outward. Luckily, my finger was there to keep it from falling harmlessly to the floor. :-/
The moral of hte story is obvious: Don't be too frugal. Never hold workpieces with a hand. And, anytime you hear a flycutter spinning up, run yelling and screaming out of the room!
Oh, and I now have a very nice collection of hole cutters to avoid having to use the Flycutter From Hell any more than I absolutely have to.
