Rocket tracking question from the UK..

Chaps,

What method and kit do you use for tracking and recovering rockets in the USA and beyond? Is there a preferred option, ie RF beacon? What are the preferred frequencies etc?

Cheers,

paul. ===================== there is method in my madness. =====================

Most rockets that end up beyond the U.S. land in Canada and we mail them back promptly via Her Majesties Post Office. Darn, I forgot, we're not a colony anymore and the U.S. wont have us either so it's called Canada Post for the time being.

Seriously though, the preferred frequency for rocket locater beacons on this side of the pond are in the 200~300 MHz range.
