fw 190 question.

anyone else prefer the early, short nosed variety? to me it's a much meaner looking ac. while i do like some of the longer ta 152's, they really seem to be different birds. the films of the prototype and early production models just look bad ass to me. i like that 2/3 repro the guy in texas did. if i had the bucks. i think he has a saab motor? it certainly has the stance and attitude. did they really put a pilot and 2 ground crew in the 190's during some of the russian retreat bug outs? insert radio rec....never mind.

yes, me too. I much prefer the early stub nose version. Looks mean.

I'm ok with the langnasen, but I prefer the flat to the blown hood canopy. Other than that I'll build either...not a fan of the long wings on a TA 152, though.

i knew you had superior taste. see the one they pulled out of a fjord? it looks saveable. certainly cosmteically. it was early. first thing they did was pull the mg's out to beat someone who might damage it. them northern boys like to shoot up them polders and fjords.

yeah, that early wing is hot. the flat hood is great, even if not the safest. looking cool while you're getting the shit shot out is just as important as looking badass when you do the shooting, yah?

...like we used to say on the ski slopes - "it's not how you do, it's how you look doing it"...

Absolutely, the long nosed one looks wrong to me.

I have a thing for the very early 190s from doing so many copies of the old Revell kit. But call me crazy, I like them all.

Is there a chronoly anywhere of which label released which version?

I vaguely remember Aifix' first attempt being a long-nosed version so am biased towards that.

there's a shel silverstein song about that. forget the name, but it ends with the subject dead. the last line is, don't he look nice when he's thin? it's about losing weight.... not a problem for you young guys.

Seems like Frog Penguin was the first, followed by Airfix (a Dora, you were right) and Frog (an Anton).

Excellent! It appears your 'quick google' was far more successful than my 'long google' :o)
