Perpetuationg War

You ever stop to think that by buying and building machines of War-ecspecially non current events-that you are keeping alive things of horror?

I mean, FUCK the panzer Tank, Fuck the German Soldier, Fuck Jap Zero's and American P-40's

Fuck diorama building in general as it pertains to any depiction of War.

Let's not stoop to it's level with replies. Whether it's stoned, retarded, or just an inbreed, it won't change it's small mind anyway.

...yeah - just build a kill machine and dedicate it to him. Build as many of them as you can. Build Panzers...and soldiers...and Zeroes...and Warhawks...and make dios of them...and put a plaque on it attributing your inspiration to Drmmr...post pics of it all over the net...enter it in contests...revel and exalt in your craftmanship...encourage others to build...

Build ON!!! Build often.

(...we now return you to your regularly scheduled programming, already in progress...)

I think Dennis is back. The only dioramas he likes are ones made out of shee-ite. Suprised he didn't mention the impending doom of IPMS in there. lol Whatta' fool=85

Do you expect us to build dioramas of inner-city scenes of peace and harmony?

What do you think should replace the dioramas you hate?

(When you sober up, you owe us an apology for the language.)

I have built several dioramas, NONE was about war, so the diorama diatribe is way off base (most of mine were with cars).

I do prefer to model civil vehicles, whether they are planes, ships, whatever, but do occasionally build military subjects.

While certainly not as strident as drmmr, I DO think that our hobby does tend to go a bit overboard on military subjects. For instance, there were many historic and important non-military aircraft in aviation history, but those of us who model them are certainly out of the mainstream (still need a good 1:72 scale Ford Tri-motor :-) ).

Also, I know of a few modelers in my area who are virtually obsessed with WW2 German/Nazi subjects. That is all they build, all they talk about- and they talk about them very positively. This does bother me. The Nazi "empire" was an evil empire.

But just as folks can go overboard glorifying war, it is possible to overdo criticizing those who model military subjects. BTW, I am a vet.

I love building kits of German planes. But it's because they are interesting and often quite nice looking, and I also do anything else that flies and occasionally floats. My latest project is the ancient Revell Spitfire II. Civilian subjects just aren't as interesting to me, although I had a model car phase for a while.

From what I have seen, inner-city dioramas would often show more hate and violence then any scene of warfare.

  1. Models don't kill people, people kill people.
  2. Your aggressive tone reminds us that humans have been hurting each other since the beginning of time and will continue to do so.
  3. Building models and dioramas helps people remember the horrors of war so that, hopefully, they won't repeat them. Kind of like museums. Maybe your mommy can take you to one.
  4. Spell check is a very useful tool.

For myself, there are plenty of softskins that still need to be kitted.

Yeah but the whole phrase of course, is "Guns don't kill people. I do!" then W.A. looks to camera uttering a diminishing laugh of fear.

I've not seen that film in some years so it's on my Amazon wish list.

I;ve never met one of those guys,, but if I do, I' ask what the word NAZI stands for. If he can tell me, I'd ask, "then you guys are socialists?" I wonder what he'd say. =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0
