Can anybody suggest what would be a good material for making antenna

Bill, Notwithstanding the advice you have been given, grab yourself an old extension cord and unravel the copper strand wire inside the plastic insulator, that one lonely wire you unraveled will be about as thick as you want to go. There, your antennae wire.
