we are not on the same page here... not a select few... I am referring generally to what you might call 'net friends' etc.... a person tends to share broader views with his 'friends'.. also in venues with others in the same general circumstance...

thats pervasively common in most NG's and mentioned explicitly in the USENET rules on the matter (sorry no link available)...the mention as I recall is that 20% or so off topic posts are not only warranted but desireable as they relate to the broader human interests in life or are just jokes etc.
