353 amp transformer wanted

I build 10-11 volt power supplies for my repeater's transmitters. Since they pull around 20-25 amps I've been using 35 amp/12v rated transformers and pulling a few windings off to get 10 volts AC. The vender (Hosfelt) ran out of these and I'd like to get at least one more. The part numbers and other lables on the transformer are:

430-7001-4, EIA 6-9534, CLASS 180 H1 MEXICO. They are about 4 1/2" x 4", etc. Searcing on the web did not bring any current items to me. If you have any leads please email me snipped-for-privacy@yahoo.com or visit my site

25 amps at 10V???? That's more than enough to fry an egg. What on earth do you use them for

250 Watts sounds just right for a 100 watt FM ham radio repeater transmitter. Figure around 50% efficiency and the transformer should be loafing along under continuous duty - which repeaters should be capable of handling.

Ah, I see. OP's request makes sense. I thought it was for model train use. 250W is a bit much for a model railroad - Lionel made transformers this size, but they were (and are) dangerous. A short across the rails can burn the rails plus whatever is creating the short.

You might think about a standard car battery charger. with 12 to 13 VDC at load, 10 VAC would be about right. Add a small toroid choke on the line side to pull the voltage down, if needed. John H.
