175+ update

Went out and fiddled with it a little last night. Seems like I had the squeeze roller pretty tight. I loosened it all the way, then held the trigger at a low wire speed, and tightened the wing nut until it just would push the wire. I thought I had the big wing nut on the spool loose, but it was fairly tight, too. Time for a new spool anyway, and I'm going with .035 wire and a .045 liner. Got some welding to do in the next few days, and this should tell if it's just adjustments, or something internal.

Had to use this time, sorry, to add a line to my sig. Just for the guys in my newsgroups. Last line.

I have two containers with oak (?) flooring. I have a roll around router table, and a small table saw that I'd like to mount to the floor, but be able to unmount it quickly. Where can I find some type of t bolts that I can drill an oversized hole in the wood, put the female anchor in there flush with the floor, secure it in, and have enough room around it to blow out chips once I take it loose? I have a router table on a base, table saw, and metal bender I'd like to anchor down. I think if I use a lag, the hole will wallow in the wood. I could take some square plate, cut some vent blow holes, drill it, weld a nut on the underside, rout out a place on the floor, and mount that with countersinks, but I was wondering if there was anything available that was pre made that I could just slam down.

Sorry. Cut and pasted something else on to this post. Brain fart. Pardon me. It will clear out quickly.

I only have a WeldPak 155, and your SP-175 may be set up differently. Check to see if there's a setscrew inside the axle the spool mounts on. My WeldPak has one. It sets the drag on the big spool by allowing the spool nut to screw only a certain distance into the axle. If it somehow gets turned in too far, the turning spool will self-tighten the spool nut, cause it to drag and make the wire feed inconsistent.

Thanks, I'll take a look. Should be going out there tomorrow. Was stuck inside today working on a 675,000 sf real estate evaluation. It was hot anyway. I think I'll be free tomorrow. Might even make it to town and get a new liner and a roll or two of wire.
