Hello all,
I have a Miller XMT 304 and a TIG torch without a gas valve. I've also got a solenoid valve that I'd like use to control gas automatically.
Is it right that there's no direct way to run the solenoid valve off this welder? (At least I can't find anything obvious...)
My alternate idea is to build an auxillary electronic circuit that watches the voltage across the contactor switch (pins A and B in the
14 pin plug). Presuming the voltage is 24 VAC when the contactor switch is open, and 0 when it's closed, that could trigger a relay to run the solenoid. Might even add a timer for post flow time on the gas.
And, heck, might as well throw in a couple more timers to make a TIG pulser while I'm in the neighborhood. ;-)
So, before I do all that, is there an easy solution I'm overlooking?
Thanks,
Tim
