How to, Scale looking stitching?

A friend wants to put stitching or something that looks like stitching, on a Solartex covered plane, the plane has an undercambered wing and he is not sure how to go about making the plane stitching look real.

Can someone suggest an technique or techniques or possibly point to a "how to" article somewhere?

Many thanks,

Check the hobby supply shops. There is a "pinking tape" in various scales that can be ironed on and then finished to match.

You can use white glue in a syringe. Use the white glue to simulate the rib stitching. Then cover the simulated rib stiching with pinking tape, which can be obtained in widths just for models from

When done, it looks just like the real thing. It doesn't take as long as you might think. I used this method on a 1/3 scale cub with a 12' wing span. It only took one afternoon. The above mentioned web site also sells a video showing this being done on a model.

Without a doubt, Stits.com has the finest materials available to finish a scale model.. AND you'll not find a finer fellow in the RC biz than Chip Mull.....
