newbie question

I have an FP-T4NBF Tx, running on 72 Mhz, it was purchased in america a few years ago, i now live in the UK, and am wondering if it can be changed to the 27 Mhz band, or if not is it legal in the uk?

Regards, Scott

Hi Scott

27 MHz is legal in the UK but is not recommended for flight, too many toys on 27 MHz. The aircraft frequency is 35 MHz. Unless the Tx uses a plug in transmitter module its not economical to try and have it converted, just buy a new radio as you would need a new Rx as well. If it has a module then you can buy one on 35 MHz and a new Rz and you will be OK.

FP-T4NBF ? That sounds like it's probably the Conquest transmitter - known in the UK as the Challenger. If so, it doesn't use a plug-in module so can't easily be converted. It's closest descendant, the Skysport, will only cost you around £30 (tx only) and you would have to replace the 72MHz receiver regardless of what type it is. Any servos (depending on their vintage) should be OK to use. But if not, replacements are available from around £6 each. You'll almost certainly need to replace to replace the batteries.
