Go through the AMA website to the District VIII website and there is some information about geotile.
The Golden Triangle RC Club put in a petromat runway 3 years ago over smoothly prepared dirt. 3 rolls wide by 2 rolls long for a runway about 52' wide x 550' long. Other than some fading of the material, it looks now like it did when installed - not counting a few holes caused by crashes or large plane prop strikes. We did have one nut forget and drove a lawn tractor over the runway and tore up a section about
3' square. We merely trimmed out the ripped area and stapled a patch over the hole.Cliff. We just put our second one down two weeks ago at our new site (SE Texas). I have all the info you need plus pictures while we were doing it.
If your interested in it email me and I'll forward pix and answer any questions you have.Just be sure you put Runway mat in the subject so I know it's not spam I'm getting.
Thanx Walt BRCC/GM
I'll comment on the idea that if the club can't afford cement or asphalt,it's certainly the way to go.It works very well for a lot less money.

Look at the Burleson club. There used to be pictures. If not, try a google on petromat.
Our rolls here in SE Texas were $315 per roll. Each roll was 18X308 and we used five rolls. Where the money comes in is what you put under the mat for sure.Theres a choice of the substrate you put under it depending on where you live.
