There are three ways of getting airplanes for Real Flight.
If the plane is on one of the ADD-On disks you can buy the disk for around $24.
You can check to see if someone on
formatting link
has developed the airplane you are looking for and download it for free.
You can learn to use the software that allows you to develop planes your self.
In the case of the RV-4, I don't believe its available on an Add-On disk or as a freebie on Knife Edge.

BTW, If someone has developed a plane and based it on a plane from an add-on disk, I believe you also require the add-on disk
