I have a Seamaster 40 with an OS 46 FX and have flown it for two years. It is a fine airplane but don't get it too slow on landing. I have also flown the Lanier Mariner 40 size and even though I think the Seamaster is a better looking airplane, I believe the Mariner flys better, especially on landing. Either one is a good ship if your flying skills will match it. My favorite sea plane is an Sig LT40 with a Tower 75 on it. Unlimited vertical and real slow on landing. Great ship.

Both require some mods to make them better, typical of any ARF. I have the Seamaster ARF with TT46 pro. It is OK, but I have also flown the Mariner, AND it is a much better flyer. AND, yes, don't slow down the Seamaster too much............

Hi All!

I have 10 seasons on a OS 40 FSR powered Seamaster (kit version) ...

I love it! One of the funnist models I have!

Super water performance...akthough the flat botom of the "hull" pounds on rough water, if I built another I would "V" the bottom slightly..not too much or spray rails would be needed..

I can slow mine way down, but be careful to do it with wings level, DO NOT get it too slow in a steep "turn to final" turn. - It appears to have a "deep stall" tendency due to the horizontal stab being "blanked" by the wash of the wing due to the high "T" tail configuriation .. It has appeared in mine in a "high G " turn at too slow a speed ...apply power and use normal stall recovery techniques.. the high "pod" arrangement pulls the nose down with the addition of power and stall recovery is immediate..

Sooooo..much fun drag racing with r/c boats...and superb control in tight places, great taxi steering and the ability to handle cross winds make it a GREAT seaplane!

Cheers!

Dave
