Are the ways being lubed?

Looking for ways to avoid some looming matchining, I was reading shit on the side of le Fadal, you know, the daily, weekly, monthly, yearly label above the disconnect.

Under Daily, it says, Check way lube system for adequate oil flow.... (Bijour lube system).

Just how does one do that? Without major disassembly AND the ability to manually activate the pump ditty?

I asked this years ago, and when Sam was still lucid, he said, Don't worry about it, and no one else seemed too concerned. But now that I actually see a directive on an effing label, I'm curious as to just how one does this?

Right now, I look at the vertical sight glass every cupla weeks, and based on my sense of how much the machine has been used, sort of intuit the oil consumption. Not exactly precise, eh?

Which is no easy task. Fadal wants this done *daily*??

Sheeit, I had to pull the rear Y axis covers to re-straighten'em, hammer out the crumple zones, and that had to have been a 4 hour job, at least an hour of that pulling those goddamm things on and off.

Izzat one of those bullshit CYA things, that gets them off some liability hook?

I would pull them every quarter or even six months.

Yeah,I hate pulling them as well.

I do PM's on about six of them for a customer.

You can at least think about doing it everyday. That might be a useful stalling tactic if the usual ones fail you. Sometimes you have to be creative with them you know.

If your adding oil to the tank, its using oil so the oiler is working? Only thing is some lines my be "pluged up" not allowing oiling at those points. Usually happens by BS in the way oil, wrong viscosity, ect. Only way, for sure, is pull covers,trace lines & watch oil coming out. Some connection points have restrictors(small orifices) to allow "slow" feed of lube. Those get plugged real easy. Otherwise F-it. Its an ol Fadel Put some mineral spirits in the way oiler, pump the shit out of it for a day, replace mineral spirits with Vactra & again pump the shit out of it for another day. Kinda like an 5-minite engine flush? That'l do it. Don't forget to grease the ball screws!

After a day of running on my Suppermax I can see the oil running down the covers on Z and Y. X is a little more difficult to tell. Where does your "waste oil" drain to?

Hell, you add oil every few weeks?, mine will drain the bowl in 2 days and I have it set to the smallest amount. Thank You, Randy

Pdi metering devices, ( PDI = positive displacement injectors ) whereupon a main discharge line goes from the pump into a "distribution block" and then there is one pdi meter screwed into the block for to feed each individual lube line....if you crack open all the fittings on the meter outlet on the distribution block and then wait a while ( the pump should cycle every 1/2 hour though IIRC some cycle every time you change mode ( say from auto into mdi or to jog or back to auto, etc)...anyways once the pump has cycled you should then see visual evidence of oil having leaked at each fitting ...if one or more are dry then the meter is probably clogged and hence it needs to be cleaned /replaced...if you want to clean one then temporarily fit a zerk to it then get it nice and hot by immersing in a pan of water--now pull the line off your grease gun and clear it of grease using compressed air then you fill it with kerosene then re attach the line to the grease gun...finally attach to the zirk and pump...the meter should fire once you once you reach design pressure varies per meter but pretty sure any grease gun in good condition should do it.
