Comments on Genesh Machinery

I've got a friend in the San Luis Obispo area that is looking to buy a CNC lathe. one of the dealers he is considering is Genesch Machinery.

Anyone in Southern California have any dealings with them good or bad?

Their machines appear to be Taiwanese equipment that carries their name. Comments on the equipment would also help.

Thanks, Steve

John, I was ASSuming Taiwanese. You get around to more shops than I so you are probably correct. Any feedback from end users?

Thanks, Steve

Nothing from an actual user but the comments I've heard is that they are OK. As always with these things, my big concern would be service. I know a guy with a Makino Horizontal that's down and getting it running again has been an absolute nightmare for him.

I used to work right across the street from their main office in Chatsworth. We bought a few machines from them before they had their in-house labels which they have now. Honest folks to work with (Indian). Don't know their machine labels though.

Hey Steve,

I have 2 customers that have the semi swiss type machine. They both love them. For the right parts they seem to be good machines. Service and applications all do their jobs well. Both customers had their machines set up at the factory and my job was to train the customer while dialing in the cycle times and tool change frequencies. Any questions I had were answered promptly when I called the factory. They have good support, and documentation.

The ideal part for the Ganesh is 3/4 or so diameter by 2. or so long or less with some milling and or drilling and tapping. It's the most inexpensive 7 axis machine I am aware of. (X,Y,Z,C,C2,X2,Z2).

One of the applications replaced 2 lathe operations and 3 mill operations. The other replaced 1 lathe operation and 2 mill operations. In both applications the part comes off complete in significantly less time than the combined total of previous operations.

The control and panel are user friendly. Ganesh speaks Fanucish. You have split screens to look at the main and sub spindle programs. You have simultaneous 1st and 2nd operations so you get your second operation for free. You touch off tools like a Fanuc.

To see the ideal part for their machine the video on the website illustrates the machines capacity well.

Thats all I can think of right now, I hope I answered your questions.
