================== So far all the comments have been about the adverse effects uncontrolled immigration is having on the U.S. The other side of the coin is the bad effects this is having on the countries supplying the immigrants. Increasing numbers of children in those countries have *BOTH* parents in the US illegally, with all that this implies. Additionally the countries are being stripped of their professionals [h1b/h2b visa] and the more agressive/assertive non-professionals. It's not the illegals, it's the trend of some cultures to refuse blending with our country. There is nothing wrong with being proud of your roots however what we are beginning to see are countries forming within our country. Miami is a good example. Go to some parts of Miami and you will find native born American's with Cuban parents who can hardly speak English. There are some Cuban's that have been in this country decades and still can't speak the language. The situation gives rise to these people appointing leaders..not unlike gang leaders in many ways to set a seperate agenda for "thier people" which in many ways is different from the mainstream, hence my orginal statement of a country within a country. This can eventually give us the same problems that Iraq is having now, They have on faction that hates the other faction that kills another faction but yet they are all Iraq's.

An exageration to be sure but look at the trend that started when the Blacks began to form thier own representation. The Latino's will soon become the major force in this country and with it will come laws that advance Latino's such as language,ethics and many things not understood.

Iraq never has been and may never be a country. It is a geographic location. It was/is an administrative district created by the British in the 1920s from the debris and wreckage of the Ottoman Empire.

The history of the artificial states based on colonial administrative districts whether in the Balkans, Africa, or the Mid-East has not been good, with continual revolts, massacres, civil wars, etc.

I see no compelling reason that the people of the United States should [continue to] expend their "blood and treasure" to maintain these chimeras created by some forgotten British Foreign Office functionary, which serve no useful purpose.
