"VX has Class A surfacing which allows it to handle complex tangency problems which other systems find difficult."

"VX has historically been a very impressive tool and is a pioneer of the hybrid modelling approach that many of the mainstream modelling systems are now adopting. The ability to work with a true mixture of surface and solid geometry is a real bonus for those working with complex forms, but the real benefit is the editability of those features (whatever there particular type)."

"So, whether you're looking to make the move from 2D to 3D, thinking about moving to an advanced modelling system or in the market for a CAD/CAM system, then I think you'd have to be either very cash rich or clinically insane not to seriously consider VX and all that it has to offer"

"Alongside the advanced geometry creation and modification tools within VX, the system also includes a wide variety of CNC programming tools. VX CAM is a fully integrated module of VX, so if the designer makes a change the CAM is able to update the toolpaths previously created. The system covers the majority of today's machining techniques from standard 2.5 axis, through

3-axis and into high-speed machining and 5-axis positioning / 5-axis simultaneous machining where required. While these tools are already highly advanced, there have been a few key updates - many of which are aimed at the capture and reuse of commonly used operations and strategies. For example, the new CAM operation management tools allow you to create a series of CAM operations for a given type of component, and save this machining process so you can then apply this to new geometry, creating all the roughing and finishing operations automatically. These can be reused time and time again, ensuring that company standards are adhered to and inexperienced users are able to create first class toolpaths."

"Lastly is the introduction of a brand new post processor which is a much more user-friendly tool that covers all the capabilities of the system (as above) with a large library of machines already in place as standard."

What, Cliffy must be snoozing on the job, it's been a whole 5 minutes since this was posted, and he hasn't begun to hump JB's leg about posting another review. :)

I expect a quicker response from you next time Cliffy.

Very happy with the phenominal support I'm getting from the VX rep assigned to work with me. He cleared up a bunch of problems I was having with the sketcher via a Webex meeting / phone call last night.

Applied what he showed me today and solved all the sketch issues I was having. Almost halfway through the 500 plus page VX CAD fundamentals PDF tutorial now.

VX is so much fun to work with... I don't feel like the program ever really fights me and when I do it's because of something not documented that I'm missing.... like double clicking on a constraint to see what geometry the constraint is refering to.

Hey it takes time to download all that over a 2400 baud modem and break it up into 40 snippets. Then come up with some vitriol for each of the 40 snippets. Then create forty seperate posts (which puts a strain on the old

8088), then upload it all. Phew! Or, it could just be his turn to do the dishes at the commune tonight.

He has a cubicle set up in a mental hospital. He probably was either stringing beads or finger painting.

So, yer taking up the cause for poor people, or people that are insane but not clinically insane now as a pretext for buying VX?
