Dear Bill Martin:
pressure 'X' plumbed
sealed fitting through
through the chamber.
work when not static.
Yes. This is pretty much what a remote pressure regulator (or remote pilot regulator) is.

Festo definetly have them:
They have thousands of devices for pneumatics designed to be integrated into automation. Their MPPES series of pressure regulator valves is probably what you want. They require a 0-10V or 4-20mA signal.
They also have proportional flow control valves more suited for position control such as their MPEY series.
They can also supply pneumatic positioning processors to opperate the valves.
Pneumatic cycliners can now be positioned to within an amazing 0.02mm. These things are rock hard when you bash them even with a rubber mallet. They won't budge more than 0.02mm.
Festo also have
Use proportional 5/3 flow valves for position control. Tune your positioning to algorithm to provide you with the damping you need.
I used an electronic regulator that was called Buzzmatics. Great product now sold under Marsh-Bellofram. They have dual loop controllers for leveling the vehicule using accelerometers.
