im new here and i dnt know how active this NG is.
anyway im from germany studying elec. power eng. and would like to make
an 5 months internship in the UK next october. Does anyone here have
tips about it? maybe contact addresses...
Id be thankfull for any help.
I think you will find placement with a UK university is one of the
easiest arrangements, because universities always have plenty of
research projects to do. There have been several here in recent years
because a large company has both UK and German parts and each part has
connections with universities, so the link is through the company, now
it's an established link the connections are direct as well. One
student that came a few years ago is now doing a doctorate here. (But
this is a mechanical engineering group)
And look out for collaboration on current or recent EU funded projects,
your university department administration should know what's been going on.
So go and talk to your industrial partnership people at your university
to work out likely links, the company will probably need to have
research centres in both the UK & Germany for it to work easily.
