lenght of a branch

What is the average length of a branch of an AC high voltage line?

Medium voltage starts out at 1kv goes up to 69kv, over that there is high voltage 70-100kv and Ultra High voltage over 100kv.

High/Ultra High is long distance transmission lines. hundreds of miles medium voltage is usually less than tens of miles.

Each time you change voltages you have to install a sub station. Substations are placed in locations of need.

Residential distribution where I live is at 7200v. usually under 2 miles Commercial 15000v Industrial 34.5kv or 69kv

SQLit,

Thank you. My question is about lines with voltage over 69 kV. How long do you think is an average branch? If the line is very long, what is the average lengh over which voltage is essentially the same?
