Can anyone please tell me what the equivalence of 1.5MM, 2.5MM and 16MM gauge wire is to AWG?

I assume you mean square mm?

1.5mm is between 16ga and 14ga 2.5mm is between 14ga and 12ga. 16mm would be between 6ga and 4ga.
