Can anyone explain why people use Si and Ga As for microwave/RF Schottky diodes and not SiGe?
What would be the advantage of SiGe? The compound semiconductors are much more difficult to manage the elementary semiconductors. Si technology is highly developed and will work at higher temperatures. GaAs, although more complicated and expensive, will give higher speeds.
