Have you guys seen the story on the $65 million bank robbery in Fortaleza, Brazil? Thieves dug a 262 foot tunnel from a nearby house, broke through the 3 1/2 foot concrete vault floor and made off with the cash. No alarms, videos, etc.

Central Florida TV-6 has story with a slide show:

Quite a step up from "put finger in pocket and say give me all your money"

Advantage of being a crook in a second- or third-world country: brute-force attacks are more likely to work.

they are thinking internal help.. the alarms and cameras were turned off..

wonder how many nights it would take to go thru 42" of rebar reinforced concrete..

The guy who pulled the Great Train Robbery went to Brazil, where he couldn't be extradited as long as he had Braziliam dependents. Wonder where a guy from Brazil goes.

This has been done in the US also. They are still looking for the folks that pulled it off.

BTW To be more accurate, this was not a robbery, it was a burglary.

Reminds me of:

or the 2004 Tom Hanks remake....
