Pundra Question

Ok, here goes.

Some of you have questioned my background. After a six month basic locksmith course I went to work at a large locksmith division of a much larger security integration company for 7 years. I then went on to the electronic side of security

I was primarily focused on commercial security and in truth our company did 90% of all the commercial properties in a large metropolitan area. As they were such a big company I have been cross trained in many locksmithing areas. I have been trained on all heavy duty hardware and high security products. I have factory trained on Simplex, Marlock, Von Duprin, Medeco and many other products. I have been trained in safe manipulation and forensic locksmithing.

I have a certificate designating me as a TCPL (certified professional locksmith) from our provincial locksmith association.

While employed as a locksmith I have never seen a break in occur from anyone fabricating a key by use of code or impressioning. While it is true any reasonably competent locksmith could read the code by looking at a pundra key and reproduce it with ease, the general public could not.

I simply asked my peers for a code to expedite a small matter. I did not ask for bypass tricks. Isn't that what this newsgroup is for? To share information?

Yes, to share general information, not codes or bitting. This forum is open to the general public where this information shouldn't be posted. May I suggest that you sign on to either

or any of the other "Restricted" Locksmith web sites. There you can sign up and they will verify your qualifications. Then, there won't be any problems in getting key codes or any other kind of help.

It's interesting that you have all this experience but don't personally know one single person in the business who can look up a common code.

How would anyone know?

While it is

Yes they could. If they were suitably inclined to do just a little bit of research. It isn't rocket science and this is irrelevant to what you asked for anyway. You asked for depths which makes the task considerably easier than just looking at a key and reproducing it.

To share whatever infomation people want to share. You said you already got the code so somebody shared the info with you, info they probably paid for I might add. Personally I couldn't care less. Code information is widely available, to anybody who isn't too cheap to pay for it that is, so the people who consider it "restricted" information are off base. There isn't anything restricted about it, other than that it's generally restricted to people who are willing to spend money to obtain it. That said that doesn't mean you are just entitled to it for free from anybody simply because you ask. Just be happy somebody was willing to hand it to you for nothing.
