I've been trying for a couple of days to find actual measurement data on the diffusion rates of oxygen in noble metals, especially gold and platinum.
Does anyone have a good reference for this sort of stuff?
Thanks,
Phil Hobbs

Look for papers by Paul G. Shewmon. He wrote a good book on diffusion in metals and did much research. He may have authored a summary review piece that might have appeared in one of the Metals Physics volumes.
Thanks for the response. I haven't found any diffusion data for oxygen in gold yet, but have learned something about diffusion of gases in metals.
Cheers,
Phil Hobbs
