I am assisting to recruit a Contracts Manufacturing Manger for a client in San Diego, CA. Here is more information:

Tasks and Responsibilities: This position will manage the day-today production operations at the Contract Manufacturers. Provide hands-on trouble-shooting and problem-solving assistance to the Contract Manufacturers for products. Oversee, along with Quality Assurance, that the Contract Manufacturers are in compliance with GMPs for the manufacture of products. Perform site reviews, inspections, and due diligence for existing as well as possible future Contract Service Providers, vendors, consultants, etc. Provide product related technical assistance to Contract Manufacturers as requested and appropriate. Participate with, as required, Quality Assurance, Product Development, and Contract Manufacturer personnel in the scale-up, technology transfer, and validation activities at the contract facilities. Provide technical evaluation and recommend approval/denial of requests from Contract Manufacturers for equipment, supplies, training, and other material purchases.

Job Requirements: BS degree in Engineering, Science, or related field. Minimum 10 years biotechnology/pharmaceutical manufacturing experience. This position requires experience with aseptic fill and finish, Class 100 environment, and sterilization processes. Familiarity with cGMPs and validation requirements are a must. The successful candidate has "hands-on" manufacturing experience and is comfortable working on the manufacturing floor.

As this client maintains a drug and alcohol free work environment, successfully completing a Pre-employment drug and alcohol test is required.

This client is engaged in the discovery, development and commercialization of potential drug candidates for the treatment of diabetes and other metabolic disorders.

Their second diabetes drug candidate, is targeted for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and is currently in Phase 3 development. A long-acting release formulation of this product is in Phase 1 development. A third drug candidate, is in Phase 1 evaluation as a potential treatment for metabolic disorders relating to cardiovascular disease.
