Many electric motors come with gear reducers built in; some can even be ordered with one of several different gear ratios. But these do not seem to be ammenable to aftermarket tinkering--you can't remove the gearing from a motor, or substitute gearing from a different motor. Does anyone know where to look for second hand or salvaged reducers that are self-contained, and can be attached to an existing motor? What sort of junked equipment might contain reusable gear reducers? (We have access to a lot of equipment auctions.)
