Adjustable Feet for Inclined Surfaces

I need to build a little "table-like" support that would have to account for varous surface inclines from 0 degrees, down to as much as



45 degrees.

I intend to use telescoping tubing for the legs:

But I will need "feet" that I can somehow attach to the tubing legs.



I can visualize it, but I don't know the name of what I am looking for. It would use either a ball and socket or hinge that would allow it to stay flat against against a changing surface incline.(It of course will not need to lock).



If anyone has a name of anything I may be able to use for this purpose, please let me know. I will then search, and attempt to figure out if there is a way to attach them to the bottom of the telescopic legs.

Try your search on "machine levelers". Some brands can pivot but I doubt they will go to 45 degrees. If the angle is in one axis then a simple clevis and pin should perform what you ask.

Can you elaborate on what "Reid" is and where to find a picture of the TL-4 you mentioned?

I may have to make something myself, which may be doable since I only really need the feet to adjust on one axis. Perhaps some sort of triangle carved out of Delrin, which an axle running through the top.

Give this a try:

The hanger, in your application, would be turned up-side down. Weld or bolt a plate to the bottom and run a bolt thru your uni-strut material.

Built similiar feet for a mobile telescope tripod. Used 2X4's and plywood with bent sheetmetal brackets for the pivots.

I think what Mawdeeb was suggesting is that you have a flat pad, be it either round or square, with two "legs" rising up from the top of the pad, with holes through them so that a single "post" (also with a hole in it) from the table leg could be inserted between the legs on the top of the pad, and a pin inserted to let the pad swivel at the bottom of the leg. It would give you at least 45 degrees of swivel and still would let the pad sit flat on the floor. The pin and clevis would be just the mount to attach the pad to the bottom of the leg. Ken.

Not a pick at this post, but the whole idea of swivelling feet.

If you have feet that simply allow something to sit flat on a sloped floor, but stand the _swivel point_ up from the floor, and the floor is sloped but coplanar, so that all adjustable feet are at exactly the same angle to adjust, you are gping to get a toppling effect, are you not? It's as if you had a completely level floor, but pushed your supported item sideways.

In all of these ball feet etc you need locks.
