And speaking of cameras

When the "Miracle on the Hudson" plane made its famous unscheduled water landing, there were at least nine different videos of the event, from cameras on both sides of the river.

Anyone (at least anyone in a metropolitan area) who thinks they are not being observed is kidding themself.

You are also being filmed every time you go to an ATM, into a convenience store, a supermarket, a pharmacy, and, well, pretty much everywhere.

Further, you car's license plate is recorded every time you go through a toll booth around here, and there are who-knows-how-many red-light cameras.

The concept of "hiding" is pretty tough to square with the modern world. (Of course, now Gunner will tell us how he could hide for a week behind a blade of grass on the Whitehouse lawn).

I never said Gunner was hiding [the reference was to his propensity for exageration of his abilities] , and I'm quite familtar with the concept of hiding in plain sight [parts sometimes go missing right in front of me on my workbench]. I was pointing out the fact that surveilance cameras are pretty much everywhere these days.Again, no fewer than nine cameras recorded a plane landing in the middle of the Hudson river. These were not cameras aimed at the plane - not news cameras, not amateur cameras, just cameras that are, every day, looking in that direction.
