On Mon, 20 Feb 2006 10:30:15 GMT, with neither quill nor qualm, Gunner quickly quoth:
I downloaded them in November and they still come up for me (in Acrobat Pro 6.) File sizes in Win2k are 3,967 and 5,865kb, respectively.
I did have a problem downloading the first part of the manual, though. I see 76kb for the first half and 3,923kb for the second.
I can't access your archive link today, either but that's probably from the storm over HotLanta this morning. I'll give it an hour. (Starband balks at bad weather around the uplink here or in the downlink to GA.)
I just downloaded and opened the art of bending 1 & 2 with no problems. Use both Acrobat 5.0 and Reader 7.07. You probably got a bad download the first go and need to clear your cache or rename the files before you down load them. I had this problem with some huge Porsche manuals I was downloading and had to clear the cache several times to get good downloads. HTH Glenn
I was finally aboe to down load the art of Bending files. Part two read fine, but part one is only 136K and Acrobat Reader says the file is bad and can't be repaired. Dave Foreman
I wonder what the problem is? I had no problem the first time I tried each of them, and I previously downloaded the manual for my #2 hand punch.
Anyway, if anyone is really stuck, drop me an e-mail and I'll send the missing one. None of the ones I looked at is more than 5M, so they download fast and should make it through e-mail.
I amusing IE 6. I just now chose a file, right clicked, open in new window and the fiiles mentioned downloaded and opened just fine. I was able to save and reopen again. Seems to work fine. Thanks for the link Gunner.

I downloaded all of those except the power notcher, and several others (including both turret punches), and all of them were no problem to read or to print. (Other than using up quite a bit of paper in total)
I was using xpdf to print them.
What means did you use to download them? If you used ftp, you need to be sure to set it to "binary" mode before downloading, or it will be trying to "fix" end-of-line sequences.
I figured (after reading the other responses) that perhaps I should show the actual size of the downloaded files, and then run "sum" on them (try comparing that on your linux box):
I was able to do two today - that site is a pig to get loaded. Overloaded or under defined.

If you 'save as' you will get a 5K file with a .pdf extention but it's really an .htm. If you click on the link, those open as a web page saying the page is missing. Or, just change the extention and you will see the same thing.
Try re-downloading. I snagged all there was, so if you still have trouble, I can e-mail them to you. Then again I'm on dial up so mailing a CD is not out of the question.
