Anyone from using DRO's (calipers) on their lathe or mill?

If so where you get it from and what was the cost?



What's the quality like?



Based on the above link is the DRO and the digital display units good value for money?



Or is there a better or cheaper way?

I use this one on my Clausing lathe on the cross slide:

I totally love it.

I bought it from Shars.com. Mine is a 8" version. Approximately 30 bucks. It is horizontal, and a vertical model would suit me better, but I already had it as a leftover from another project.
