My wife has several favorite Al pans & griddles that have a warped hump in the middle.. It would cook much better if flat. How can I shrink the Al to make the pans flat? I can press them down easily but the result is not flat but wavy.

I would try shrink hammering them. You can shrink metal by hammering it if your mallet is softer than your anvil. So I would use a rawhide, wooden, or plastic mallet and a steel anvil. By "mallet" I don't mean a dinky 1" hammer - it should be 2" diam or so. In this case, it would probably be convenient to have your "anvil" fairly large - say an 8" x
8" piece of 1/2" steel. Go slowly - a lot of softer strikes is better than a few big whacks. Start at the perimeter and work in. Be patient. Good luck.Bob
